Study at CAC from overseas

CAC offers monthly intakes at four campuses in Melbourne, Brisbane and Hobart. Applying to CAC and applying for a student visa are two separate steps. See every step below, from choosing a course to your first day.

Seven steps from your first question to your first day

Choose a course and campus

Check requirements and your budget

Check the entry and English requirements for your course, tuition and other fees, health cover (OSHC) and living costs. Check the student visa requirements now too, before you pay anything. Entry requirements | Fees | Student visa (Home Affairs)

Apply to CAC

Apply online or through an approved CAC education agent. Our admissions team checks your application and may ask for more information. How to apply

Review and accept your offer

If your application is successful, you receive a letter of offer and a written agreement. Read both, including the refund policy, before you accept and pay. An offer is not a visa. After you apply

Receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)

When you have accepted your offer and met its conditions, CAC issues your CoE. A CoE is the official record of your enrolment. It is not visa approval.

Apply for your student visa

You apply to the Department of Home Affairs, and Home Affairs makes every visa decision. CAC cannot give migration advice. For visa advice, speak to a registered migration agent. Student visas

Arrive and start

Arrange somewhere to live, plan your trip, attend orientation at your campus and log in to the student portal. Pre-departure | Accommodation

Good to know

Four things people often mix up

Each step has a different purpose:

  • Applying to CAC is not the same as applying for a visa.
  • CAC entry requirements and student visa requirements are separate checks.
  • An offer confirms a place. A CoE confirms your enrolment. Neither is a visa.
  • Only the Department of Home Affairs decides your visa.
