Student pathway

Make your next study step clearer.

See how CAC qualifications build on each other, and how credit transfer and recognition of prior learning (RPL) work.

01

Start with your goal

Explain the outcome you are working toward and the course question you have.

02

Check your options

Compare current course information, entry requirements, fees and progression details.

03

Confirm the right contact

How qualifications stack

Many CAC study areas offer more than one level, so you can start where you fit and keep going.

Certificate III and IV

Build core practical skills and industry knowledge for entry-level and skilled roles.

Diploma

Take on more responsibility with broader technical, planning and supervision skills.

Advanced Diploma

Develop management-level skills and deeper specialist knowledge.

Graduate qualifications

For people who already hold a qualification or have relevant experience and want to specialise.

Credit transfer

Already studied?

If you have completed units that match units in your CAC course, you can apply for credit transfer. Credit transfer is provided free of charge.

Apply within 20 days of the first term of your course.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Skills from work and life

RPL looks at skills and knowledge you already have from work or life experience and assesses them against the units in your course. RPL is fee for service.

Credit or RPL may shorten your course. For international students this can change your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
