Training

Some mechanics may be working while they train, for example if they’re doing an apprenticeship or further study. Therefore, some of their daily tasks may involve shadowing an experienced technician or working through study materials. For example, after completing Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology you could study for a certificate IV or diploma. You could even go on to study a highly specialised subject at university!

Pay

According to the Australian Government’s Job Outlook website, motor mechanics can expect to earn $1,436 per week. However, this may be higher or lower depending on your education and experience.
